Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant (CA) to join our Finance team as an Assistant Manager – Accounts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial accounting, statutory compliance, taxation, financial reporting, audits, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal controls. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate maintenance of books of accounts.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
  • Ensure timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reports.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide management with meaningful insights.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare cash flow statements and monitor working capital.

Taxation & Compliance

  • Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory returns.
  • Handle GST reconciliations, assessments, notices, and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with Companies Act, Income Tax Act, and other applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with statutory authorities whenever required.

Audit & Internal Controls

  • Coordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and company policies.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best accounting practices.

Banking & Treasury

  • Manage banking transactions and reconciliations.
  • Monitor cash flow and fund requirements.
  • Coordinate with banks regarding documentation and financial requirements.

Team Coordination

  • Guide and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Support finance projects and ERP implementation/improvements where required.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) – Qualified
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.
  • Additional certifications in finance/accounting are an added advantage.

Experience

  • 5+ years of post-qualification experience in Finance & Accounts.
  • Experience in manufacturing, retail, FMCG, or trading industries is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Tally is an advantage.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards and financial reporting.
  • Excellent understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance.
  • Hands-on experience in financial statement preparation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
