Job Description

Job Title: Asst. Manager - Project Accounts

Department: Finance

Location - Thrissur/Kochi

Experience Level - 10 to 15 Years

CTC - 12 to 16 LPA

Job Summary:

The Asst. Manager Accounts will be responsible for overseeing the financial health and accounting processes of various projects. This role involves managing project budgets, financial reporting, risk assessment, and ensuring all project accounting is conducted in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the project accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

- Oversee project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking to ensure projects remain financially viable.

- Monitor and analyze project expenses, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.

- Collaborate with the Project team to review project progress and financial status.

- Analyze, develop, and report industry benchmarking metrics related to project costs, timelines, profitability, productivity, and financial performance. Provide insights and recommendations to improve project efficiency and decision-making.

- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and statutory requirements including taxes.

- Manage project-related audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.

- Prepare and present regular financial performance reports to senior leadership.

Project Execution & Technical Oversight Experience: - Interior Fit-outs & MEP: Manage end-to-end accounting of retail interiors, including complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works, bespoke cabinetry, lighting, and HVAC systems. - Vendor & Contractor Management: Negotiate contracts, procure materials, and supervise on-site contractors to ensure materials and work orders are accounted for. - Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous quality and safety checks to ensure the project meets luxury retail standards and local building codes. - Timeline Management: Create timelines and enforce strict project schedules to minimize store downtime and ensure on-time grand openings.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in project accounting or financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA, or CMA) is preferred.

- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems.
