About us:

Exide Energy Solutions Limited (EESL) is one of the fastest growing companies who has vision to solve social issues regarding energy, environment, resource, etc with producing lithium-ion battery products. Exide Energy Solutions Ltd is setting up India's first Giga plant to manufacture Lithium Ion Cells in Bengaluru.

Qualification and Experience: CA / ICWA with 10-20 Years of Hands of Experience in Finance

Roles and Responsibility:

1. Annual Operating Plan (AOP) & Budgeting

  • Coordinate preparation of plant-wise and corporate-level budgets (Revenue, Opex, Capex).
  • Align business assumptions with production volumes, energy inputs, raw material forecasts (e.g., lithium, graphite, cobalt).
  • Consolidate budgets from SCM, Production, HR, and R&D into a company-wide AOP.
  • Provide variance analysis against previous year/forecast, and run simulations based on volume and price scenarios.

2. Forecasting & Rolling Estimates

  • Prepare rolling monthly/quarterly forecasts for sales, EBITDA, working capital, and cash flow.
  • Adjust assumptions dynamically based on raw material indexation, global commodity trends, and government subsidies (PLI, FAME).
  • Integrate production efficiency trends (yield, scrap, energy usage) into forecast updates.
  • Track customer demand pipeline (e.g., EV OEM orders) and reflect in revenue projections.

3. Cost Analysis & Control

  • Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) across key inputs (raw materials, energy, labor, depreciation).
  • Monitor plant-level cost drivers: utility cost (per kWh), material yield, cell scrap, and line downtime.
  • Support cost optimization initiatives in collaboration with operations and procurement.
  • Benchmark costs across multiple plants and identify variances to standard/budget.

4. Capex Planning & Monitoring

  • Support preparation of plant-level and corporate-level Capex budgets (machinery, buildings, automation, R&D).
  • Track Capex spend vs. budget and highlight delays, cost overruns, or under-utilization.
  • Evaluate ROI, IRR, and payback period for new projects (e.g., cell line expansion, BMS labs).
  • Provide financial modelling for greenfield expansion or joint ventures.

5. Management Reporting & Dashboards

  • Prepare and circulate monthly MIS packs including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Develop dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud) to show KPIs like:
  • EBITDA/ton
  • Cell yield %
  • Plant utilization
  • Working capital cycle
  • Highlight key risks and opportunities in performance review meetings (MPR/QBR).

6. Strategic Business Planning

  • Support long-term business planning (35 years), aligned with EV/ESS market demand, technology roadmap, and capacity build-out plans.
  • Evaluate multiple scenarios demand shifts, technology upgrades (LFP vs NMC), policy impacts.
  • Assist in fund-raising models (equity, debt) and investor presentations with finance leadership.
  • Develop models for sensitivity analysis (currency, inflation, interest rate impact).

7. Industry & Competitor Analysis

  • Track and report on global and domestic trends in Lithium-ion battery manufacturing.
  • Benchmark operational and financial KPIs with competitors (local and global gigafactories).
  • Monitor key market developments:
  • Raw material price fluctuations (lithium, nickel, graphite)
  • EV penetration trends
  • India's PLI scheme and related subsidy impacts
  • Conduct competitor profiling and support management in strategic decisions (e.g., technology licensing, M&A).

8. Financial Systems, Tools & Data Integration

  • Maintain financial planning models in Excel, SAP BPC, or Anaplan (if applicable).
  • Ensure integration of ERP (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) data with planning and BI tools.
  • Automate data extraction and reporting processes for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure version control, audit trail, and standardization across plants for FP&A reports.

9. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with:
  • Operations for production forecasts and plant efficiency inputs.
  • Supply Chain for procurement cost trends and inventory positions.
  • Engineering/Projects for capex and plant expansion financials.
  • HR for manpower budgeting and productivity KPIs.
  • Support leadership in strategic discussions and board reviews.

10. Compliance, Governance & Audit Support

  • Ensure alignment of financial plans with accounting standards (Ind AS).
  • Support statutory and internal audits with forward-looking financial insights and assumptions.
  • Ensure adherence to internal FP&A processes and controls, including document retention and approval workflows.

  • Proficiency in SAP or other ERP software.
  • Experience with CARO (Companies Auditor's Report Order)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the operations, finance, and audit teams.
  • Strong analytical skills for variance analysis and reconciliation tasks
