Job Description

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional to manage financial operations within the GIFT town framework. This role requires strong knowledge of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, reviewing regulatory reporting, local financials, and handling audits within Finance for the SCB IFSC Banking unit, Gift town.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management and Reporting:
    • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, along with sending the commentaries to top-level management.
    • Review and submission of IFRS financials to Group by engaging with the GFS team.
    • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
    • Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis.
    • Maintain internal financial controls and reporting standards.
    • Liaise and discuss with business teams on the monthly outlook for overall business.
  • Regulatory and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with GIFT town regulatory requirements.
    • Liaise with auditors, regulators, and external stakeholders, drive audit queries, and coordinate between auditors and internal stakeholders.
    • End to end closure of audit along with query resolution for subsidiaries.
    • Support statutory audits and regulatory filings.
    • Reconcile GST and TDS payments.
    • Coordinate with tax consultants on direct and indirect tax matters along with preparation of FPI books of accounts.
    • Preparation of Finance related Governance meeting decks (OGMG) and preparation of ALCO decks.
    • Prepare MPR, SERF returns required by SEZ and IFSCA.
  • Process Improvement and Launching New Products:
    • Implement automation and efficiency measures.
    • Test new product launches including UAT checks, and check downstream impacts.
    • Identify and highlight risks and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Control and Governance:
    • Financial and local balance reconciliation.
    • Substantiation of GL balances.
    • Update PPG with accounting entries on a regular basis with the latest developments in product/business and standards.
    • Update and review of DOIs/process notes as required.
    • Present findings/follow through actions in relevant control/risk forums including regulatory reporting risk forum, finance/financial markets risk forum.
  • Regulatory & Business Conduct:
    • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group&rsquos Values and Code of Conduct.
    • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and the Group Code of Conduct.
    • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with relevant working experience in banks/MNCs or Big 4 banking audit firms.
  • Hands-on knowledge of regulatory reporting, various guidance/circulars issued by IFSCA from time to time, and basics of banking products.
  • Ability to work in an organized way, multitasking, prioritizing, managing data to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and data skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey complex messages quickly and succinctly to stakeholders with confidence.
  • High levels of drive and resilience along with attention to detail.
