Assistant Finance Controller (SGX listed)

The Company

My client is a market leader within its industry and is seeking a hands-on and driven finance leader to lead the Group Finance function for its domestic operations. The ideal candidate will bring experience from FMCG, retail, F&B, or other high-volume transaction environments, with a proven track record in driving process improvement.

Requirements

• Degree qualified with prior external audit background
• More than 8 years of experience in the commercial sector in managing Financial Consolidation, Group Reporting and Accounting.
• Industry exposure: FMCG, retail, F&B, or other high-volume transaction environments
• Team management experience required (in managing >10 direct & indirect staff)
• Good Excel skills
• SGX reporting experience can be advantageous
• Traits: Hands-on, driven, proactive, team player, flexible, able to drive process improvement as processes are currently manual

Job Scope

We are looking for a hands-on finance professional to support the group financial management, group consolidation & reporting and internal control and governance. Working closely with senior leadership, this role will play a key part in financial planning, performance analysis, and decision support, while contributing to the company's ongoing growth and operational objectives. You will lead day-to-day finance management, ensuring accurate financial reporting and the timely preparation of budgets, forecasts, and management reports. Provide meaningful financial analysis and insights to support business decisions, drive process and system improvements and strengthen internal controls. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements, while managing relationships with auditors, banks, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders. The role will also be involved in cross-functional projects, strategic initiatives, and other business priorities as required.
