Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram for an Assistant Fashion Designer. The Assistant Fashion Designer will support the design team in creating innovative clothing concepts that align with the brand's identity. Responsibilities include assisting in design development, fabric sourcing, contributing creative input for collections, coordinating fittings, and working closely with the production units to ensure quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research seasonal trends, colors, silhouettes, and print directions
Assist with trend forecasting and mood boards for upcoming collections
Develop CADs and technical sketches for styles
Prepare detailed tech packs, specification sheets, and measurement charts
Write and update fit comments and sampling corrections after sample reviews
Track sampling development and maintain design documentation
Coordinate with factories, vendors, and sampling units during product development
Support the design team through the entire development process from concept to final sample
QUALIFICATIONS
23 years of experience in fashion design or product development
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design
Strong knowledge of CADs, tech packs, specification sheets, and garment measurements
Experience preparing measurement charts, fit comments, and sampling corrections
Prior experience working with export houses, manufacturing units, or garment factories
Strong understanding of garment construction and sampling workflows
Excellent research skills with a strong understanding of international and transnational fashion trends
Ability to translate global trends into commercially viable designs
Highly organized with strong coordination skills with vendors and factories
Strong eye for colour, print, silhouette, and detail
High level of professionalism, work ethic, and accountability
