Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities

Purpose:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Mechanical/electrical Maintenance deputy/asst Engineer to work at our Li-ion cell manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, utilities, and optimization of mechanical and electrical systems and PLC-controlled equipment critical to the facility's production processes. This position necessitates a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to ensuring the continued operation and efficiency of our manufacturing operations. The candidates will work closely with the electrode fabrication, cell assembly and formation teams to ensure that the equipment operates smoothly and seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on all equipment and dehumidifier systems.
2. Follow preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
3. Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and mechanical failures, diagnosing and implementing effective solutions to restore functionality and minimize production disruptions.
4. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to optimize processes and recommend equipment modifications for efficiency, reliability, and safety.
5. Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and standards and promote a safe culture among personnel and throughout the facility.
6. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.
7. Coordinatewithexternalvendorsandserviceproviderstocompletespecializedmaintenanceandrepairtasksontimeandaccordingtoqualitystandards.
8. Trainandmentorjuniormaintenancestaffonbestpractices,troubleshooting,andequipmentoperation.
9. Demonstrateproficiencyin5Spractices.

Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical /electrical engineering
• 2+ years of experience in relevant roles within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the battery or energy storage industry.
• Proficiency in installation of new equipment, troubleshooting of equipment's, with a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and machinery operation and PLC operation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to systematically diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed to support maintenance activities and respond to emergencies.
• Able to work in low humidity conditioned rooms.

• Experienced in maintaining mixing and coating equipment.
• Worked with a variety of coating equipment, including reverse comma and slot die.
• Experience using knife and laser slitting machines.
• Experience with winding and stacking machines.
• Experience with laser and ultrasonic welding.
• Understanding of cylindrical and prismatic cell production machinery.
• Understanding of lithium-ion battery materials and performance metrics.
