Job Description

Role Summary:

The incumbent will lead the design, development and delivery of learning interventions that enhance student employability and prepare students for internships, placements and successful transitions into the workplace.

Responsibilities:

Learning Needs Identification and Strategy

  • Assess student learning and development needs in alignment with placement, internship, and career-readiness requirements.
  • Work closely with the Placements & Internships team to identify competency gaps based on industry expectations, recruiter feedback, student performance, and emerging market trends.
  • Develop an annual learning and development roadmap for students across programmes and cohorts.
  • Build structured interventions for different stages of the student career journey.
  • Identify developmental barriers that may affect students confidence, career decision-making, professional behaviour, or preparedness for internships and placements.

Student Development, Counselling and Personality Development Interventions

  • Design and facilitate developmental interventions to support students in building self-awareness, confidence, resilience, and professional identity.
  • Provide individual or group-based career and developmental guidance to students facing challenges related to career choices, placement preparedness, confidence, motivation, or professional development.
  • Help students identify their strengths, areas for development, interests, and career aspirations through structured developmental conversations and appropriate assessment tools.
  • Develop interventions for students who may require additional support in areas such as communication, confidence, interview anxiety, professional behaviour, or adapting to workplace expectations.
  • Partner with relevant internal student support or counselling functions where specialised psychological or mental health intervention is required.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries in all student interactions.

Facilitation and Programme Delivery

  • Independently facilitate high-impact workshops and learning sessions for students.
  • Engage external trainers, industry professionals, alumni, and subject matter experts for specialised programmes.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of learning delivery across programmes.
  • Adapt learning interventions based on student profiles, academic disciplines, and career aspirations.

Assessment and Impact Measurement

  • Develop mechanisms to assess student competency levels and learning outcomes.
  • Track participation, progress, feedback, and effectiveness of learning interventions.
  • Use data and feedback to continuously improve programme content and delivery.
  • Measure the impact of L&D initiatives on student preparedness, internship outcomes, and placement readiness.

Programme Management

  • Independently manage the end-to-end planning and execution of the L&D calendar.
  • Manage budgets, vendors, trainers, schedules, logistics, and programme communication related to learning initiatives.
  • Ensure timely execution of programmes in alignment with the placement and internship cycle.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, reports, and dashboards on L&D activities and outcomes.

Experience:

  • 10–12 years of relevant experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, Career Services, Employability, or Capability Building.
  • Experience in designing and delivering learning programmes for young adults, early-career professionals, or management students would be an advantage.
  • Experience in higher education, consulting, corporate L&D, leadership development, or career services is desirable.

This is a senior individual contributor position. The role does not involve people management but requires the ability to independently conceptualise, drive, and execute the Learning & Development agenda for the Placements & Internships function while working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
