Key Responsibilities

Transport Procurement & Sourcing

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard transport vendors
  • Float RFQs/RFPs and conduct commercial negotiations
  • Ensure competitive freight rates and benchmarking
  • Develop long-term vendor relationships

Vendor Management

  • Monitor vendor performance and KPIs
  • Ensure compliance with agreements and SLAs
  • Handle issue resolution and escalation management
  • Drive vendor rationalization and consolidation

Cost Optimization

  • Analyze freight spend and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Improve route optimization and vehicle utilization
  • Track market trends and transport benchmarks

Contract Management

  • Draft and finalize transport agreements and rate contracts
  • Ensure adherence to contractual terms
  • Support contract renewals and amendments

Operations Coordination

  • Coordinate with operations and planning teams
  • Ensure vehicle availability and placement
  • Resolve transportation delays and service issues

Data & Reporting

  • Prepare MIS reports and performance dashboards
  • Track KPIs and operational metrics
  • Use ERP/TMS systems for reporting and analytics

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure transport compliance and documentation
  • Monitor insurance, permits, and statutory requirements
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation plans

Required Skills

  • Strong negotiation and commercial acumen
  • Knowledge of transportation and fleet operations
  • Vendor management and stakeholder coordination
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, MIS, ERP, and TMS systems
