Key Responsibilities
- Accounts & Ledger Management: Maintain accurate books of accounts and ledger records, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal controls.
- Payment Application & Reconciliation: Apply and reconcile payments accurately and ensure all transactions are appropriately recorded.
- Account Reconciliation: Investigate and resolve account queries, discrepancies, and reconciliation issues, escalating complex matters to senior finance staff where required.
- Month-End Activities: Support month-end closing activities and ensure accounting tasks are completed accurately and within defined timelines.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare routine financial reports, including monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis against budgets and prior periods, identify significant deviations, and provide relevant financial insights.
- Internal Coordination: Collaborate with finance, sales, and other internal teams to ensure timely completion of accounting and reporting activities.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and enhance efficiency in accounts handling.
- Confidentiality & Compliance: Handle confidential financial information professionally while ensuring adherence to applicable internal policies and controls.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 7–8 years of experience in maintaining accounting books and financial records, preferably with large corporate organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- Experience in bookkeeping and financial administration.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong experience in account reconciliation, payment processing, ledger management, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in SAP, spreadsheets, and financial reporting tools.
- Strong knowledge of balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective internal collaboration.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and manage workload during month-end and other peak periods.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes.
