Job Description

Responsibilities:

. Direct and supervise all on-site construction activities including structural RC works, architectural finishing, façade installation, and MEP coordination to ensure works are executed safely, on schedule, and within quality standards.

. Manage and coordinate construction teams, subcontractors, and specialist trades to ensure adherence to project specifications, construction drawings, method statements, and safety requirements.

. Develop and implement construction methodologies, temporary works strategies, and site logistics plans to optimize productivity and resource utilization.

. Conduct daily site inspections to monitor work progress, quality of workmanship, and compliance with approved construction drawings and specifications.

. Chair regular site coordination meetings with subcontractors, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely completion of construction milestones.

. Ensure strict compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, conduct risk assessments, and implement robust safety management systems on site.

. Coordinate with the Project Manager, Design Manager, and QP/PE on technical matters, design clarifications, and construction feasibility issues.

. Review and approve construction method statements, temporary works designs, lifting plans, and other technical submissions from subcontractors.

. Monitor and control construction costs, manpower deployment, material usage, and equipment utilization report variances and implement corrective measures.

. Liaise with statutory authorities (BCA, MOM, SCDF, NEA, PUB) for inspections, permit applications, and regulatory compliance throughout construction phases.

. Manage the handover process including defects rectification, testing and commissioning coordination, and TOP/CSC preparation.

. Mentor and develop site engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety awareness, and technical excellence.

Qualifications:

. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

. Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in building construction, including at least 5 years of experience in managing construction of building projects of similar scale and complexity.

. Experience in managing large site teams (50+ workers) and multiple subcontractors simultaneously.

. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

. Familiarity with construction planning tools (Primavera P6 / MS Project) and BIM coordination platforms.

. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure.

. Excellent communication skills
