Role Overview
We are looking for a Category Specialist who can drive category growth by delivering customer-focused and design-driven product solutions.
This role involves working closely with designers and customers to understand their requirements and suggest the right products that balance design, functionality, and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Understanding Design Requirements
- Work with designers, customers, and stakeholders to understand design needs, lifestyle, and preferences
- Review design briefs, layouts, and drawings
- Convert design ideas into practical and feasible product solutions
2. Product & Solution Development
- Create product boards for different spaces (kitchen, living room, bedroom, etc.)
- Prepare detailed product lists including materials, finishes, fittings, and services
- Ensure solutions match customer needs, design intent, and budget
- Stay updated with latest design trends and materials
3. Customer Interaction & Presentation
- Present product solutions clearly to customers
- Explain product benefits, design logic, and usability
- Offer alternate options based on budget or requirements
- Help customers make confident decisions
4. Technical Coordination
- Ensure all product selections are technically feasible
- Work with designers, vendors, and internal teams for validation
- Keep updated on new materials and innovations
5. Category Growth
- Identify opportunities to grow product categories
- Share insights from customer interactions and market trends
- Support in building scalable and design-led solutions
6. Catalog Management
- Maintain and update product catalog regularly
- Ensure accuracy in product details, pricing, and visuals
- Add new products and remove underperforming ones
- Maintain consistency across locations
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in interior design (residential/commercial)
- Customer Handling: Strong experience in client interaction and influencing decisions
- Design Knowledge: Good understanding of materials, finishes, furniture, and fittings
- Technical Skills: Ability to provide practical and design-aligned solutions
- Attention to Detail: Strong documentation and organization skills
- Communication: Good presentation and explanation skills
- Time Management: Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
