Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant Category Manager to drive the growth and profitability of our e-commerce platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in category planning, vendor management, pricing strategies, merchandising, and P&L ownership. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow your assigned category, improve customer experience, and optimize assortment and supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy & Planning:
oDefine and execute category growth strategies aligned with overall business goals.
oConduct market research, competitor analysis, and consumer insights to identify trends and opportunities.
oForecast demand and manage assortment planning to meet revenue and margin goals.
oKnowledge of e-commerce platforms, especially Amazon, and experience with product listing management
Vendor & Supplier Management:
oIdentify, onboard, and manage vendors/suppliers.
oNegotiate terms, pricing, and promotional support to maximize margins and ensure product availability.
oFoster long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
Merchandising & Pricing:
oDrive category performance through effective pricing, promotions, and product visibility.
oCollaborate with marketing and design teams for campaign planning and content strategy.
oOptimize catalog and listing quality for enhanced discoverability and conversion.
Performance Management:
oOwn the P&L for the category and deliver on revenue, profit, and inventory turnover KPIs.
oAnalyze sales performance, customer behavior, and conversion data to make data-driven decisions.
oMonitor and reduce returns, cancellations, and out-of-stock rates.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
oWork closely with operations, supply chain, finance, marketing, and product teams to ensure smooth execution of category plans.
oDrive alignment across teams for promotional campaigns and new product launches.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
56 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or buying in the e- commerce or retail industry.
Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Amazon, Magento, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud) is a plus.
