1. Position Summary
The faculty member will contribute to high-quality teaching, research, and academic administration in the field of Forensic Science. The candidate will teach B.Sc., M.Sc. and related programs, mentor students, supervise laboratories, and support departmental research initiatives. A strong commitment to academic excellence, scientific integrity, and collaboration is essential.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Teaching & Academic Duties
- Teach theory and practical courses in Forensic Science (Forensic Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, DNA Profiling, Ballistics, Questioned Documents, Digital Forensics, Crime Scene Investigation, etc.).
- Prepare lesson plans, course files, syllabus mapping, and outcome-based education (OBE) documentation.
- Conduct laboratory sessions, demonstrations, and supervised crime scene simulations.
- Evaluate student performance through exams, assignments, viva, and internal assessments.
- Mentor and guide UG/PG students in academic matters and project work.
B. Laboratory & Technical Supervision
- Oversee laboratory activities ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Maintain laboratory instruments and coordinate with technical staff for smooth functioning.
- Conduct mock crime scene exercises and evidence collection drills.
C. Research & Publications
- Conduct research in forensic science specialization areas (DNA Forensics, Toxicology, Digital Forensics, Forensic Anthropology, etc.).
- Publish research papers in reputed and indexed journals (Scopus/Web of Science preferred).
- Guide student research projects and dissertations (UG/PG).
- Undertake funded research projects and collaborate with forensic labs and government agencies.
D. Administrative & Departmental Roles
- Participate in curriculum development and accreditation activities (NAAC/NBA).
- Support departmental committees, academic audits, and quality assurance processes.
- Organize and participate in seminars, workshops, FDPs, and academic events.
- Contribute to community outreach activities and forensic awareness programs.
3. Required Qualifications
Assistant Professor
- M.Sc. in Forensic Science or related specialization (Forensic Biology, Chemistry, Toxicology, Digital Forensics, etc.).
- NET/PhD preferred as per UGC guidelines.
- Prior teaching, research, or forensic lab experience desirable.
Associate Professor
- PhD in Forensic Science or relevant discipline (mandatory).
- Minimum 8+ years of teaching/research experience in a recognized institution.
- Strong publication record (Scopus/Web of Science).
- Experience guiding student research and handling departmental responsibilities.
4. Skills & Competencies

- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and crime scene handling.
