Chitkara School of Psychology & Counselling is looking for a dynamic academic leader who is passionate about building future-ready psychology education with a strong focus on counselling, mental wellness, research, industry integration, and student development.
We are seeking an experienced professional with strong academic leadership, institutional development, and mentoring capabilities to contribute towards strengthening academic excellence, innovation, research culture, and industry-academia collaboration within the department
Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic and administrative leadership to the School of Psychology & Counselling
- Support curriculum planning, program development, and academic quality enhancement
- Drive innovation in counselling education, psychology programs, and experiential learning
- Mentor faculty members in teaching, research, publications, and academic growth
- Strengthen research initiatives, funded projects, conferences, workshops, and collaborations
- Ensure compliance with academic and regulatory standards
- Build strong industry, clinical, hospital, NGO, and institutional partnerships
- Guide student mentoring, counselling initiatives, internships, and placement support
- Contribute towards accreditation processes, rankings, and institutional development
- Promote interdisciplinary learning and future-focused psychology education
- Participate in strategic planning, admissions support, outreach activities, and academic branding initiatives
Eligibility Criteria
- Ph.D. in Psychology is mandatory
- Minimum 12+ years of academic, research, or industry experience in Psychology/Counselling
- Prior experience in academic leadership roles such as HOD, Program Lead, Associate Dean, Dean Coordinator, or equivalent will be preferred
- Strong research profile with publications, conferences, projects, or academic contributions
- Experience in counselling practices, student wellness initiatives, or applied psychology domains will be an added advantage
- Excellent communication, leadership, mentoring, and team management skills
- Exposure to curriculum development, accreditation processes, and academic administration preferred
