Role Description The Assistant Agriculture Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India. This position supports the Agriculture Director in planning, coordinating, and overseeing agriculture-related programs, initiatives, and partnerships. Day-to-day tasks include assisting in developing strategic plans, monitoring ongoing projects, collecting and analyzing agriculture sector data, and preparing reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders. The role involves collaborating with government agencies, educational institutions, and industry organizations, as well as contributing to outreach activities that promote agriculture career opportunities. The Assistant Agriculture Director also helps manage internal workflows, supports budgeting and resource allocation, and ensures that activities align with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of agriculture, agri-business, or rural development, with the ability to understand sector trends and policy implications.
  • Experience in project coordination or program management, including planning, monitoring, and reporting on multiple initiatives.
  • Ability to conduct research and data analysis, and translate findings into clear, actionable insights and reports.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience in cross-functional collaboration and external engagement.
  • Solid organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and comfort handling administrative and operational tasks.
  • Proficiency in standard office productivity tools (such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software) and basic digital collaboration platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Rural Management, Environmental Science, Public Administration, or a related field; a master's degree is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in an agriculture-focused organization, government department, NGO, or industry body in India is preferred.
  • Commitment to gender-neutral, inclusive practices and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach, and readiness to work on-site in Delhi, India on a full-time basis.
