Asset Manager – Solar/ BESS (C&I IPP)

Role Overview
The Asset Manager will be responsible for maximizing the operational, commercial, and financial performance of the company's renewable energy portfolio comprising rooftop solar OPEX, ground-mounted group captive solar, wind, and BESS assets serving C&I customers.
The role will oversee asset operations, portfolio profitability, regulatory compliance, customer relationship management, and dispute resolution with off takers to ensure high plant performance, strong revenue realization, and long-term asset value creation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Portfolio Management
- Define and execute asset management strategies to optimize portfolio performance and long-term value.
- Support portfolio expansion, acquisitions, refinancing, and integration of new assets.
- Identify opportunities for performance enhancement, hybridization, and storage integration.
Asset Performance & Operations
- Ensure high plant availability, generation performance, and operational reliability across solar and BESS assets.
- Monitor KPIs including PR, CUF/PLF, availability, curtailment, and BESS efficiency.
- Drive preventive and corrective maintenance through coordination with O&M teams and contractors.
- Lead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for underperformance events.
- Utilize SCADA, analytics, and digital tools for performance optimization and predictive maintenance.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Manage portfolio P&L, revenue realization, collections, and cost optimization.
- Oversee billing, energy accounting, and reconciliation processes.
- Ensure compliance with PPAs, captive structures, and open-access regulations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, lender reporting, and insurance claim management.
- Monitor commercial risks, scheduling deviations, and revenue leakages.
Contract Management & Dispute Resolution
- Manage post-execution administration of PPAs and customer commercial agreements.
- Lead resolution of disputes related to billing, banking settlements, open-access charges, curtailment, payment delays, and contractual interpretation.
- Coordinate with legal, finance, regulatory, and commercial teams for dispute resolution and claim management.
- Support contract renewals, amendments, and customer retention initiatives.
- Maintain strong relationships with C&I off takers to ensure long-term partnership stability.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, grid, safety, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with DISCOMs, SLDC/RLDC, and regulatory authorities for operational and commercial matters.
- Track policy and regulatory developments impacting renewable energy assets and captive projects.
Risk, ESG & Governance
- Identify and mitigate operational, financial, regulatory, and environmental risks.
- Drive HSE and ESG compliance across all operating assets.
- Establish governance frameworks, MIS reporting, KPI tracking, and portfolio performance reviews.
Stakeholder & Team Management
- Manage relationships with investors, lenders, customers, EPC/O&M partners, and internal leadership teams.
- Lead and develop high-performing cross-functional asset management teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Energy preferred)
- MBA preferred
- 10–15 years of experience in renewable energy asset management or operations
- Strong experience in:
- Rooftop Solar OPEX
- Group Captive / Open Access Projects
- Solar, Wind and/or BESS assets
- C&I renewable energy business models
- Strong understanding of Indian renewable energy regulations, PPAs, and commercial frameworks
