Role Description
The Principal Engineer, Asset Management, is responsible for execution of asset lifecycle management standards, processes, and practices across Engineering and Facilities. This role ensures assets are managed in a compliant, reliable, and cost-effective manner throughout their lifecycle.
Reporting to the Director, Engineering Systems, Technology & Reporting, this role supports global asset and equipment management, global performance and reliability, and associated equipment strategy.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Owns execution of asset lifecycle management practices from design through retirement.
- Ensures optimal maintenance strategies in accordance with preventive, predictive, or proactive strategies.
- Monitors asset and equipment performance as well as network indicators (e.g. GMP non-conformance or safety event) to ensure performance criteria are met.
- Leads or participates in root cause analysis efforts and manages applicable corrective and preventive actions.
- Defines and applies asset management standards, criticality models, and best practices.
- Owns applicable documentation (Standard Operating Procedures, Engineering Standards, Guidance documents, etc.).
- Ensures changes to asset management remain aligned with equipment-specific GMP validated foundation as well as design safety controls.
- Plans end-of-life asset strategy to ensure minimal unfavorable impact to clients.
- Ensures asset data supports inspections, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Partners with CMMS owner, global system owners, and data teams to enable lifecycle insights and performance optimization.
- Enables asset reliability, maintenance optimization, and lifecycle cost analysis.
- Drives consistency and standardization of asset management practices across sites.
- Solicits network best practices as well as internal and external benchmarking to ensure assets are optimally maintained and perform according to user requirements.
- Strategically deploys Artificial Intelligence to improve compliant equipment performance as well as improve network-wide understanding of equipment-related design, build, operate, and retire information.

- Experience supporting assets and equipment within a highly regulated environment where appropriate maintenance and change control are critical.
- Experience managing facility and manufacturing asset and asset maintenance programs.
- Demonstrated experience improving asset performance, reliability, and value using data and collaborating with equipment engineering subject matter experts.
- Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles to business processes, problems, and decisions.
- Proven experience managing multiple priorities, interdependencies, and competing demands while maintaining strong execution discipline.
- Data-driven mindset with experience using metrics, analytics, or insights to guide decisions and continuous improvement.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills, including the ability to lead outcomes without direct authority.
- Experience partnering with Technology, Operations (e.g. Manufacturing and Engineering), Quality, Compliance, and Business stakeholders in regulated environments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical, system, or data-driven topics to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated capability to support change management, user adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong expertise in data governance, analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI), and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
- Demonstrated experience translating client needs into program-controlled business processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional, and fast-paced global environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading global teams and partnering with enterprise Technology organizations.
- Experience working across regions and time zones with cultural awareness and adaptability.
