Job Description
Position Overview
As an Associate – Asset Management Reporting, you will act as the independent quality‑control and risk‑assurance layer within the reporting lifecycle. Your main goal is to ensure that all performance, holdings, and regulatory‑disclosure reports are technically accurate, methodologically consistent, and fully compliant with internal standards and regulatory expectations. You will challenge outputs, validate complex assumptions, and prevent incorrect information from reaching clients or regulators.
Key Responsibilities:
Report Validation & Control
• Perform independent validation of reports produced by Processors, focusing on accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Review complex calculations, methodologies, disclosures, and trends across reporting periods.
• Execute second‑level controls and provide formal evidence of validation and sign‑off.
Investigation & Challenge
• Proactively challenge unusual movements, overrides, or explanations and ensure they are documented with factual support.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for systemic issues, recurring errors, or control weaknesses and escalates them appropriately.
Audit & Regulatory Support
• Support internal and external audits, as well as regulatory reviews, by delivering clear explanations, evidence, and documentation.
Process Improvement & Mentorship
• Identify opportunities to strengthen control frameworks and standardise processes.
• Provide feedback and guidance to Processors to raise overall quality maturity and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.
Education, Skills & Experience
Education
Post‑graduate degree in Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience in Asset‑Management Operations/Financial Reporting.
Performance Expertise
Strong understanding of performance measurement and attribution methodologies (arithmetic & geometric).
Model Knowledge
In‑depth knowledge of key attribution models, especially Brinson‑Fachler and Brinson‑Hood‑Bee bower (allocation, selection, and interaction effects).
Analytical Skills
Ability to perform reconciliations and variance analysis between performance systems and reporting outputs; proficient in analysing portfolio returns, benchmark comparisons, and relative performance.
Data Proficiency
Experience with holdings, transactions, benchmark data, pricing, and FX data; capable of interpreting complex data flows across investment and accounting domains.
Technical Skills
Advanced Excel proficiency; solid understanding of control frameworks and risk‑management principles.
Behavioural Competencies
High accountability, rigorous professional judgment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure during peak reporting cycles.
