Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an Asset & Liability Management (ALM) Officer to support the branch's financial management, ALM monitoring and business performance analysis.

The role will be responsible for monitoring and analysing key financial indicators, including deposits and loans, income and profit, Net Interest Margin (NIM) and Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA). You will also support the branch's Fund Transfer Pricing (FTP) framework, NIM attribution analysis, Economic Value Added (EVA) calculations and monthly business-line reporting.

This is a data-driven role that requires strong analytical skills and an understanding of banking financial management. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Treasury, business units and Head Office, and will also support ALCO reporting, data analysis and financial management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. ALM & Financial Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor and analyse key financial indicators of the branch, including:Deposits and loansRevenue, income and profitNet Interest Margin (NIM)Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA)
  • Conduct statistical and trend analysis to identify significant movements and variances.
  • Investigate key drivers behind changes in financial performance and provide analytical insights to management.

2. Fund Transfer Pricing (FTP)

  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of the branch's internal Fund Transfer Pricing (FTP) framework and system.
  • Monitor the impact of FTP on business-line revenue and profitability.
  • Assist with FTP-related pricing analysis and financial assessment.

3. Financial Analysis & Management Reporting

  • Support NIM attribution analysis and Economic Value Added (EVA) calculations.
  • Prepare monthly revenue and profitability analysis for different business lines.
  • Consolidate and analyse financial data for management reporting and decision-making.
  • Identify trends, variances and potential areas requiring further investigation.

4. Data Analytics, Automation & New Product Support

  • Develop and implement data automation and visualisation tools to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial analysis.
  • Explore opportunities to streamline recurring reporting and analytical processes.
  • Support data analysis and testing activities for new products and business initiatives.
  • Liaise with Head Office on data queries, reporting requirements, submissions and other coordination matters.

5. ALCO & Financial Management Support

  • Prepare materials and supporting analysis for Asset & Liability Management Committee (ALCO) meetings.
  • Consolidate relevant financial and management reports for ALCO and senior management review.
  • Maintain accurate financial data, analytical records and reporting logs.
  • Support other ALM, financial management and ad hoc analytical projects as required.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant banking or financial services experience.
  • Candidates with experience in ALM, Treasury, Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Management Reporting, Financial Data Analytics or Banking Finance will be considered.
  • Experience in a bank or financial institution is preferred.

Technical & Professional Knowledge

  • Good understanding of banking financial management and key ALM concepts, including:Fund Transfer Pricing (FTP)Net Interest Margin (NIM)Economic Value Added (EVA)Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA)Deposits and loansBanking profitability and financial performance
  • Familiarity with banking ALM frameworks and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Strong Excel and financial data analysis skills.
  • Experience with SQL and/or Business Intelligence (BI) / data visualisation tools is advantageous.
  • Strong numerical and analytical capabilities with good attention to detail.
  • Good report-writing and presentation skills.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced banking environment.

Language Requirements

  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese, including written and verbal communication, to support regular communication, reporting and coordination with Chinese-speaking Head Office and internal stakeholders.
