Reporting To: Lead Engineer / Electrical Integration Engineer
Role Objective
To support the design, assembly, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems in automotive and special-purpose vehicles. The role combines wiring harness fabrication, ECU/sensor integration, CAN-based diagnostics, and validation activities, ensuring robust electrical performance under lab and field conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Wiring Harness Fabrication & Installation
- Prepare, assemble, and modify wiring harnesses per schematics and pinout charts.
- Perform crimping, soldering, splicing, insulation, and harness routing on vehicles/test rigs.
- Conduct continuity and insulation resistance tests; ensure vibration and abrasion protection.
- Install harnesses with connectors, relays, fuses, and junction boxes following automotive standards.
- Electrical & Electronics Integration
- Install and connect ECUs, sensors, actuators, relays, switches, infotainment units, etc.
- Integrate CAN, LIN, and other network systems ensuring clean data communication.
- Implement grounding/shielding to prevent EMI/EMC noise.
- Support new feature integration (EPS, BMS, infotainment, ADAS electronics).
- Testing, Validation & Troubleshooting
- Use multimeter, oscilloscope, CAN analyser, clamp meter, battery simulator for diagnostics.
- Perform functional, endurance, and environmental testing of electrical systems.
- Diagnose short/open circuits, high-resistance joints, and ECU communication issues.
- Execute DTC scans, CAN message monitoring, and validation runs under real conditions.
- Support engineers during vehicle field trials, road tests, and endurance tests.
Skills Required
- Good understanding of automotive electrical systems (12V/24V/48V).
- Hands-on experience in harness fabrication, connector assembly, crimping, soldering.
- Knowledge of ECUs, sensors, actuators, and CAN/LIN communication.
- Familiarity with testing instruments – multimeter, oscilloscope, CAN analyser.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and pinouts.
- (Preferred) Exposure to EV/BMS systems or hybrid technology.
