Job Summary**
The Assembly Jr. Engineer at Jabil, Inc. supports manufacturing operations by assisting in the design, development, and improvement of assembly processes and equipment. This role focuses on optimizing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in production lines.
Job Responsibilities**
- Assist senior engineers in the design, development, and implementation of new assembly processes and fixtures.
- Support the troubleshooting and resolution of production line issues, including equipment malfunctions, quality defects, and process deviations.
- Collect and analyze production data to identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new assembly technologies and equipment.
- Develop and update assembly work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and design engineering, to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct time studies and lean manufacturing analyses to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
- Support the training of production operators on new processes and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the assembly process.
Job Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, internships included.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and quality control methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other data analysis tools is a plus.
- Motivated, eager to learn, and able to adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
