Aquis Search has been mandated by a leading global investment firm to identify an experienced Economist to join their Emerging Markets Asia research team. This position is based in Pune, India.
Role Overview
This is a high-impact role supporting the firm's emerging market investment strategies. You'll work closely with global economists, portfolio managers, and credit analysts to deliver deep macro insights and translate them into actionable investment ideas.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide economic and market forecasts for Emerging Asia (excluding China), with focus on India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand.
- Generate investment views and recommendations across sovereign debt, local currency markets, and FX.
- Identify and track key macroeconomic and geopolitical trends affecting the region.
- Contribute to ESG analysis, model validation, and internal research initiatives.
- Collaborate with global teams to integrate macroeconomic perspectives into portfolio construction.
Candidate Profile
- 10 to 15 years overall with 5+ years of experience as an economist or sovereign credit analyst covering Emerging Asian economies.
- Strong academic foundation in economics, finance, or related fields.
- Excellent macroeconomic intuition, analytical thinking, and market awareness.
- Ability to craft clear investment narratives and communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and globally connected environment.
