AS/400 Operations Analyst

The IBM AS/400 (IBM i) Operations Analystis responsible forthe daily operation, monitoring, and support of the AS/400 environment, with a primary focus on ensuring the success of nightly backup processes,maintainingsystem integrity, and providing security administration. This role also includes providing timelyfulfillment of application-level security access for the Infor BPCS system.

• 5+ years of working as an AS/400 (IBM i) Operations Analyst or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with backup solutions (e.g., BRMS and/or ROBOT) and recovery procedures
• Strong knowledge of IBM AS/400 job management, system commands (CL), and troubleshooting techniques
• Experience administering user security (profiles, authorities, object-level security)
• Experience with tape libraries and backup hardware management
• Familiarity with BPCS or similar ERP systems preferred
• Good communication, interpersonal skills, and a team player
• Proficiency in English language required

• Perform Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End processing activities.
• Monitor and ensure successful completion of nightly backup jobs using BRMS, ROBOT, or equivalent backup tools
• Review backup logs, job queues, and system messages to proactively identify and resolve failures
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures for recurring issues
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams or vendors as needed
• Process and manage user access requests within IBM i and BPCS environments
• Create, modify, and remove user profiles, ensuring compliance with security policies
• Provide operational support for the BPCS (Business Planning and Control System) application
• Troubleshoot user-reported issues related to BPCS processing and access
• Maintain operational procedures, runbooks, and backup documentation
• Ensure adherence to IT security policies, compliance standards, and audit requirements
