Artwork and Print Quality Executive

Job Overview: At Smartivity, we make DIY science kits for kids. We are looking for a focused person to help us check our instruction booklets and print files. Your job is to make sure every booklet is accurate and that the digital files are organized and technically ready for the printer.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Booklet Audit :

·      For every booklet you proofread, you will check it against our checklist to ensure part names, quantities, and assembly images are correct.

·      Ensure all files are named correctly and stored in the proper project folders.

Google Sheets & Documentation:

·      Copy text from our manuals into organized Google Sheets.

·      Keep these sheets updated whenever we make design changes to a booklet.

Print Quality Checks:

·      Verify booklet and spine measurements.

·      Ensure images are sharp and not blurry (pixelated).

·      Check that colors are set correctly (CMYK only; no spot/registration or overprint white).

·      Confirm crop marks are present and file sizes (MBs) are correct.

Checking Printer Layouts (Flats):

·      Review the large layouts (Flats) sent by the printer to ensure no content is missing.(Training will be provided for this!)

Print Collateral Checking:

·      Audit other print materials (like packaging or cards) against specific parameters when requested.

Minor File Edits:

·      Occasionally use InDesign and Illustrator to make small, simple text or image corrections.

Who We Are Looking For:

·      A Sharp Eye: You naturally notice small mistakes, like a missing part in a picture or a typo.

·      Software Skills: You have basic experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro, InDesign, Illustrator, MS Excel, Google Sheets, MS Word, and Google Docs.

·      Highly Organized: You enjoy keeping files and folders neat and follow naming rules strictly.

·      Willing to Learn: You don't need to be a print expert—we will teach you our specific checking process and technical rules.
