Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Article Trainee (CA Intermediate cleared) based in Kochi. The Article Trainee will support client engagements involving accounting, compliances, audits, and financial analysis for startup and growth-stage clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in the preparation and review of financial statements, maintaining books of accounts, working on GST, TDS, and income tax compliances, and supporting statutory and internal audits. The role also involves preparing management reports, performing basic financial modeling and ratio analysis, assisting in due diligence work, and supporting business planning exercises. The Article Trainee will collaborate closely with senior team members, interact with clients for data collection and clarifications, maintain proper documentation and work papers, and contribute to process improvements in a dynamic startup-focused environment.
Qualifications
- CA Intermediate (IPCC/Inter) cleared with eligibility and interest to pursue articleship in a startup-focused consulting environment.
- Strong foundation in accounting, financial reporting, and basic financial analysis; ability to work with ledgers, trial balance, and financial statements.
- Knowledge of direct and indirect tax concepts (e.g., income tax, GST, TDS) and willingness to work on regulatory and compliance assignments.
- Comfort with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to prepare working papers, schedules, and client-ready presentations.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and research skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Kochi, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines under guidance from seniors.
- Exposure or interest in startups, venture funding, or business consulting will be considered an advantage.
