Art Residency Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate, organized, and creatively driven Art Residency Manager to lead

and manage an artist residency program that brings together artists, designers, craftspeople, and

creative thinkers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contemporary art, traditional

craftsmanship, design, and cultural programming, along with excellent project management and

interpersonal skills.

The role involves curating meaningful artistic experiences, facilitating collaborations, managing

residency operations, and building a vibrant creative community.

Key Responsibilities

1. Artist Curation & Selection

• Identify and engage emerging and established artists, designers, and creative practitioners.
• Manage artist applications, selection processes, invitations, and onboarding.
• Develop relationships with national and international artists, galleries, art schools, and cultural
• organizations.
• Ensure diversity in artistic disciplines, perspectives, and creative practices.

2. Residency Planning & Management

• Plan and execute residency programs from concept to completion.
• Coordinate artist schedules, accommodation, studio spaces, materials, and logistics.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for resident artists.
• Ensure a seamless and enriching residency experience.
• 3-6 years of relevant experience in art residencies, galleries, museums, cultural institutions,
• design studios, or creative project management.
• Strong understanding of contemporary art, design, and traditional crafts.
• Experience coordinating artists, exhibitions, workshops, or cultural programs.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders.
• Strong written and spoken English; Hindi proficiency is an advantage.
• Familiarity with the Indian art and design ecosystem is desirable.
