Art Director

About the role

VelivoHR is hiring for a client, in Chennai. The Art Director will lead creative thinking on brand campaigns, build visual identities for brands, and guide a team of younger art directors. Our client is looking for someone who can take a brief and develop a campaign idea on their own, then carry it through to finished work on social and traditional media.

What you will do

• Develop campaign ideas independently, from brief to final execution.
• Build and maintain visual language for brands, including look, tone, typography and layout systems.
• Produce creative for social media as well as print, outdoor and other traditional formats.
• Oversee artworking and make sure files are print-ready and meet production specifications.
• Use AI tools in the creative workflow where they save time or improve output.
• Mentor and review the work of junior art directors, and help them grow in craft and thinking.
• Work with copywriters, account managers and clients to present and refine work.

What we are looking for

• 6 to 8 years of experience as an art director or senior designer, preferably in an advertising or creative agency.
• A portfolio that shows campaign ideas you originated, not only executions of others ideas.
• Experience creating brand identities or visual systems.
• Working knowledge of artworking, print processes and production.
• Familiarity with AI image and design tools, and a willingness to use them in daily work.
• Experience guiding or mentoring junior designers, or a clear interest in doing so.
• Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite.
