Job Title: Art Director

Experience: 5+ years (agency experience preferred)

CTC:up to 13 LPA

Annual Retention Bonus 10%. This is part of the above CTC and released on completion of one year. Subject to being on the payroll and not serving a notice period.

Role Overview

The Art Director is responsible for shaping the visual identity of campaigns, brands, and digital experiences. This role demands a highly creative thinker who can conceptualize, design, and deliver compelling visual communication across platforms. The Art Director will oversee design execution, guide junior designers, collaborate cross-functionally, and ensure the final creative output meets high brand and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is someone who blends strategic thinking, aesthetic excellence, storytelling ability, and leadership, while staying updated with contemporary design trends and technology.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Strategy & Conceptualization

Develop and present creative concepts, visual strategies, and campaign ideas aligned with brand objectives.

Lead brainstorming sessions and contribute original ideas that push creative boundaries.

Transform briefs into strong, visually engaging concepts across print, digital, films, social media, and integrated campaigns.

Design & Visual Development

Oversee and guide the creation of visual designs, illustrations, layouts, and brand assets.

Create high-quality design outputs, ensuring consistency in typography, color palettes, iconography, imagery, and overall brand aesthetics.

Provide direction for photoshoots, videos, and motion graphics to ensure alignment with brand and campaign vision.

Ensure pixel-perfect design delivery across all mediums.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

Mentor and supervise designers, junior art directors, and freelancers.

Review work at various stages and provide detailed feedback to elevate the quality of output.

Work closely with copywriters to create cohesive and impactful campaigns.

Coordinate with marketing, product, client-servicing, and strategy teams to align creative decisions with business goals.

Project Management

Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within expected timelines.

Ensure workflows run smoothly from ideation to execution.

Maintain clear and open communication with stakeholders at all stages of the project cycle.

Brand Building

Strengthen and evolve brand visual identity by developing style guides, templates, and brand systems.

Ensure all design work reinforces brand consistency and storytelling.

Identify opportunities for innovation across various touchpoints.

Quality Control

Review and approve final creative materials before delivery.

Uphold the highest design standards and ensure error-free output.

Constantly push for creative excellence within the team.

Skills & Competencies Required

Technical Skills

Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and motion graphics tools (After Effects preferred).

Strong understanding of photography, videography, lighting, and visual composition.

Skilled in branding, typography, UI/UX fundamentals, and digital-first design.

Ability to create storyboards, mood boards, and visual references.

Creative & Strategic Skills

Excellent visualization, storytelling, and conceptual thinking skills.

Strong aesthetic sense with the ability to balance creativity and brand objectives.

Ability to translate abstract concepts into compelling visual narratives.

Leadership & Communication

Strong team management, delegation, and mentoring abilities.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Ability to articulate creative rationale and pitch ideas to internal teams and stakeholders.

Other Competencies

Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.

Proactive mindset with an eagerness to experiment and innovate.

Understanding of consumer behaviour, marketing insights, and campaign strategy is a bonus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, Advertising, or related fields.

Minimum 5+ years of professional design experience, ideally in advertising or digital-first environments.

A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, campaign execution, design craft, and versatility.
