The Role
Artistic & ClassroomLeadership:
- Develop and implement an engaging art curriculum that covers a wide variety of traditional mediums (drawing, painting, ceramics, mixed media, and craft).
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and highly creative studio environment where students feel encouraged to experiment and express their unique perspectives.
- Introduce students to art history, global art movements, and contemporary design trends.
- Organize and curate school-wide art exhibitions, gallery walks, and displays for school events.
- Teach foundational digital art and graphic design skills alongside traditional techniques
- Use Google Classroom for assignment distribution, feedback, and peer critiques.
- Guide students on digital citizenship, copyright, and proper attribution in the visual arts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.), Bachelor of Visual Arts (B.V.A.), or a relevant degree in Art Education.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a K-12 school setting.
- Portfolio: A strong personal and/or student portfolio demonstrating proficiency across multiple mediums.
