Job Responsibilities

The Area Technical Manager is responsible for providing technical support to drive sales activities within the assigned territory. This role focuses on delivering technical solutions, supporting customer applications, and strengthening relationships with customers and distributors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support, including product recommendations, troubleshooting, and on-site evaluations.
  • Act as a technical advisor to customers, distributors, and internal teams.
  • Deliver technical training and knowledge sharing sessions.
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback and technical requirements
  • Identify and develop new application opportunities and support innovation initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing) to support business objectives.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations Build strong customer relationships and promote the company's technical capabilities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and continuously enhance technical knowledge Travel within the region as required (25%–50%)

Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a process engineering or applications engineering role within the Semiconductor or SMT industry.

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Strong technical knowledge in process control, troubleshooting, and applications engineering.
  • Good understanding of SPC, problem-solving methodologies, and 8D reporting is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage customer relationships and handle technical discussions effectively.

Required Hours / Shifts:

  • Standard business hours, with flexibility to support customer needs across different time zones when required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel frequently within the region (approximately 25%–50%).
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
  • Positive attitude towards continuous learning and professional development.
