Reporting To: Cluster Technical Manager / Regional Head – Collateral

Position Overview
BHFL is seeking an experienced and result-oriented Area Technical Manager to lead and manage the technical due diligence and valuation function for the assigned geography. The role requires a strong technical professional with expertise in property valuation, legal-technical risk assessment, collateral evaluation, and team management. The incumbent will be responsible for driving quality, productivity, compliance, TAT adherence, and stakeholder management while leading a team of Technical Managers.

Key Responsibilities
Technical & Collateral Management
•Review and approve technical evaluation reports for retail, affordable housing, LAP, and developer financing cases.
•Ensure accurate assessment of property title-linked technical parameters, construction quality, project approvals, marketability, and valuation.
•Monitor adherence to BHFL technical policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
•Drive quality control to minimize technical deviations, observations, and reworks.
•Conduct periodic audits and quality reviews of technical reports.
Team Leadership
•Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Technical Managers across the assigned geography.
•Allocate cases effectively to ensure optimum productivity and TAT adherence.
•Conduct performance reviews, capability building, and training initiatives for team members.
•Drive operational excellence through continuous process improvements.
Business & Stakeholder Management
•Collaborate closely with Sales, Credit, Legal, Operations, and Risk teams.
•Support business growth while maintaining robust risk controls.
•Handle escalated technical queries and provide resolution within defined timelines.
•Build and manage relationships with empaneled valuers, technical agencies, and internal stakeholders.

Process & Compliance
•Ensure timely completion of technical evaluations within defined TAT.
•Monitor WIP, productivity, quality metrics, and portfolio risk indicators.
•Ensure compliance with internal audit requirements and regulatory guidelines.
•Support implementation of technology-driven collateral management initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification
•Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Mandatory). NICMAR is added plus.
Experience
•Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Technical Evaluation, Property Valuation, Collateral Risk Assessment, or Mortgage Lending.
•Experience in Housing Finance Company (HFC), NBFC, Bank, or Mortgage Industry will be preferred.
•Proven experience in leading and managing a team of Technical Managers is mandatory.
Required Skills
•Strong understanding of property valuation methodologies and construction assessment.
•Knowledge of building bye laws and approvals, RERA,, and lending-related technical due diligence.
•Strong analytical, decision-making, and risk assessment capabilities.
•Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
•Ability to manage multiple branches, teams, and high-volume operations.

Preferred Candidate Profile
•Candidate available to join within 30 days will be preferred.
•Prior experience in mortgage underwriting support and collateral risk management.
•Exposure to Prime and Urban Housing, LAP, Home Loans, and Developer Projects.
•Strong leadership track record with team handling responsibility.

Compensation
•Maximum CTC: ₹18.00 LPA
 •Fixed Pay: ₹14.50 LPA
 •Variable Pay: ₹3.50 LPA
