RIGID PACKAGING DIVISION

The RIGID Packaging Division, through its Closures & Containers Business Units, provides customers with both standalone machines and complete turnkey plants, offering a vast range of packaging solutions covering everything from preform, container and cap to stretch-blowing, filling, labelling, packaging and finished product handling.

JOB TITLE:AREA SALES MANAGER

LOCATION: Vashi Navi Mumbai

Experience: 7-10 years

JOB ROLE: The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales of closure manufacturing machinery across India. The role involves managing the complete sales cyclefrom lead generation to order closurewhile building strong customer relationships, identifying new market opportunities, coordinating with SACMI Italy for technical and commercial support, and ensuring smooth project execution and after-sales coordination. The position also requires monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and representing SACMI at industry events.

REPORTING TO: Country Sales Director

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Drive sales of closures and preform manufacturing machinery, including CCM (Continuous Compression Moulding), IPS (Injection Preform System), CVS, and related solutions.
  • Manage end-to-end sales activities, including lead generation, customer engagement, presentations, technical discussions, negotiations, and order closure.
  • Own and manage strategic/key accounts with long-term revenue responsibility.
  • Act as a single point of contact for major customers during the full sales and project lifecycle.
  • Identify, develop, and expand new markets and key accounts across India.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring timely follow-ups, customer satisfaction, and repeat business by aligning regularly with Service and After-Sales teams.
  • Conduct customer visits, understand operational needs, provide consultations, update them with technical developments and market trends, and propose suitable SACMI solutions aligned with advanced packaging technologies to support them in staying ahead of the curve.
  • Support trials, demonstrations, FAT/SAT coordination, and acceptance processes in collaboration with technical and project teams.
  • Coordinate effectively with the Italy headquarters for technical clarifications, proposals, project updates, and order execution.
  • Work closely with internal teams (Service, Technical, Finance, and Projects) to ensure seamless execution of projects and after-sales support.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data, Visit Reports, sales reports, and opportunity pipelines on Salesforce.
  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to support business growth and strategic planning.
  • Represent SACMI professionally at industry events, exhibitions, and customer meetings.

AGE: 28 - 45 years

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL: BE Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics

DESIRABLE: Diploma/ Degree in Management with marketing as specialization

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

ESSENTIAL:

  • 7-10 years in Beverage/Rigid Packaging/Engineering/Service Industries/Automation/Automobile
  • Experience in all aspects of sales & marketing of industrial machinery.
  • Technical skills
  • Proven experience in customer relation management
  • Good exposure in managing big team and people management

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience in Beverage or Plastic Industry.
