Role Description The Area Sales Manager – Publishing and EdTech is a full-time, on-site role based in Indore, responsible for driving sales and market expansion for the company's educational publishing and digital learning solutions. This role includes managing and growing relationships with schools, colleges, coaching institutes, and institutional buyers in the assigned territory. The Area Sales Manager will plan and execute sales strategies, conduct product presentations and demos, monitor market trends, and gather feedback from educators and channel partners. Daily responsibilities involve visiting clients, managing distributors and dealers, tracking targets, preparing sales reports, and coordinating with the head office on pricing, promotions, and new product launches. The role also requires close collaboration with academic and product teams to support adoption of both print and EdTech offerings and to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Strong sales and business development skills, including territory management, client acquisition, and relationship management.
  • Experience in educational publishing and/or EdTech, with the ability to understand school and college curricula and learning solutions.
  • Ability to conduct effective product presentations and demos for educators, administrators, and institutional decision-makers.
  • Competence in market analysis, forecasting, and reporting, with proficiency in using MS Office and basic CRM or sales tracking tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused and ethically grounded approach.
  • Proven ability to work independently in the field, meet sales targets, and manage multiple stakeholders across a region.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a sales role within publishing, academic books, or educational technology will be highly beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and occasionally beyond, as business needs require.
