Role Description The Area Sales Manager is a full-time on-site role based in Nellore, responsible for driving sales growth and market development for Oswin Ply products in the assigned territory. The role involves managing existing dealer and distributor relationships, identifying and onboarding new channel partners, and regularly visiting key accounts such as architects, interior designers, contractors, and carpenters. The Area Sales Manager will plan and execute sales strategies, achieve monthly and quarterly targets, monitor competitor activity, and provide timely market feedback to the leadership team. Daily activities include field visits, lead follow-up, negotiation, order collection, coordination with internal teams for supply and billing, and ensuring effective merchandising and brand visibility. The role also includes preparing sales reports, forecasting demand, conducting product presentations, and supporting local marketing initiatives, events, and trade meets.

Qualifications

  • Proven skills in territory sales management, channel development, and relationship building with dealers, distributors, and influencers in building materials or related industries.
  • Strong negotiation, persuasion, and closing abilities, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to conduct effective market research, analyze competitor activity, and translate insights into actionable sales plans.
  • Proficiency in basic sales reporting, forecasting, and use of digital tools (CRM, spreadsheets, presentations) to track performance and pipeline.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present products and value propositions clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, or a related field; relevant diplomas with strong experience will also be considered.
  • Prior experience in plywood, wood panels, building materials, or interiors-related sectors is highly preferred.
  • Comfort with extensive fieldwork within the assigned area and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a disciplined approach to planning daily visits and managing follow-ups.
  • Fluency in local language and English
