Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Consumables

Locations: Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Lucknow(Entire UP), Chandigarh(Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, J& K)

Department: Sales & Business Development

Reporting To: Regional Sales Manager / National Sales Head

Job Summary:

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving sales and market expansion for consumable products across multiple territories. The role involves managing distributors, ensuring product availability, increasing market penetration, and leading the sales team to achieve business objectives in a highly competitive, fast-moving consumables market.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Growth

  • Achieve primary and secondary sales targets for consumable products
  • Drive volume growth and maximise revenue across all assigned regions
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and institutional clients

2. Territory Management

  • Manage and optimize coverage across Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Lucknow, and Chandigarh
  • Ensure effective distribution reach (urban & semi-urban markets)
  • Monitor local demand patterns and competitor activities

3. Channel & Distribution Management

  • Appoint and manage distributors, dealers, wholesalers, and retailers
  • Ensure efficient stock movement, inventory control, and minimal stock-outs
  • Maintain strong relationships with key channel partners

4. Key Account Management

  • Handle institutional sales (if applicable) such as hospitals, (depending on consumable type)
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term supply agreements

5. Team Handling

  • Recruit, train, and manage Sales Executives / Territory Sales Officers
  • Set targets, monitor performance, and drive productivity
  • Conduct regular field visits and joint calls

6. Market Development & Branding

  • Execute trade promotions, schemes, and visibility campaigns
  • Increase brand awareness and shelf presence
  • Gather customer feedback for product improvement

7. Reporting & MIS

  • Track sales data, forecasts, and market intelligence
  • Maintain accurate MIS reports and sales pipelines
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of consumables market dynamics (high volume, repeat sales)
  • Distribution network development expertise
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple territories efficiently
  • Data-driven decision-making and planning

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate in any discipline (MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred)
  • 5–10 years of experience in consumables(IV Cannula, Syringes, BCT, HPT & CDC will be preferred)
  • Proven experience in handling multi-location sales operations
  • Strong network in assigned regions is an advantage

Other Requirements

  • High travel frequency across assigned territories
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive targets
  • Strong local market knowledge of North India regions

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Area Sales Manager based in multiple locations ie Delhi NCR, Lucknow, Rajasthan & Chandigarh, with flexibility to work remotely on certain occasions. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and leading a sales team. Additionally, they will track market trends, implement sales strategies, and ensure achievement of sales targets within the assigned territory.

  • Experience in Sales, Business Development, and Client Relationship Management.
  • Strong Leadership, Team Management, and Decision-Making skills.
  • Excellent Communication, Negotiation, and Presentation abilities.
  • Knowledge of market analysis, sales planning, and CRM tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
  • Experience in the healthcare, medical devices, or related industries is a strong advantage.
