Job Summary
The Area Sales Manager drives business growth and market share for core marine navigation and bridge electronics-specifically Radar, ECDIS, and VDR solutions-across Southeast Asia. Based in Singapore, the role focuses on managing distributor networks, securing B2B sales pipelines with shipowners and shipyards, and driving technical product specifications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market share for Radar, ECDIS, and VDR solutions across Southeast Asia
- Manage and enhance distributor networks to maximize sales coverage and performance
- Build and maintain B2B sales pipelines by engaging shipowners and shipyards to secure new business opportunities
- Collaborate with technical teams to influence and drive product specifications that meet customer requirements
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and adapt sales approaches accordingly
- Report sales performance and market feedback to senior management to support strategic decision-making
Required competencies and certifications
- Hold a Degree or Diploma in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Business Administration
- Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of B2B sales experience within the marine electronics, navigation, or bridge equipment sector
- Possess strong technical knowledge of Marine Radar, ECDIS, and VDR regulatory frameworks and hardware products
- Maintain an active network of contacts among distributors, Singapore-based ship managers, shipowners, and marine purchasing managers
- Willingness to travel regionally within Southeast Asia approximately 20-30% for client visits and maritime exhibitions
