Job Description

Position: Area Sales Manager - Kerala,India

Salary Bracket: 6 - 8 lpa (As per experience & expertise)

Experience: Minimum 6 years of relevant Experience,

Industry: FMCG (Food)

Job Brief:

Plan, direct and implement Sales strategies and programs to achieve or exceed the sales objectives within an assigned geographical area and guide a team of field sales representatives. The area sales manager's responsibilities include delivering presentations to potential and existing customers & new customers, evaluating the performance of the sales team, and preparing concise sales reports.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develops Sales plans and budgets to achieve or exceed the annual sales objectives for the company. Monitor and control the sales budget to ensure optimum utilization of resources in the region.
  • Conduct regular market visits to check route coverage, competitor activity and continuously search for new opportunities in order to increase sales in the region
  • Develop and maintain an efficient distribution network to ensure the comprehensive availability of company's products and services across the region to achieve or exceed the sales targets
  • Managing, training, and providing overall guidance to the sales team of an assigned territory.
  • Monitoring the performance of the sales team and motivating members to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Collecting customer feedback and providing updates to senior management.
  • Traveling to potential and existing customers within an assigned sales area to present company offerings and build brand awareness.
  • Utilizing outbound telephone calls, email communications, and face-to-face meetings with customers to close sales.
  • Implementing a sales management process to assist the sales team in identifying and prioritizing key customers and prospects.
  • Liaise with the Marketing team to ensure that adequate marketing support by way of merchandising and promotions is available in the region in order to provide brand visibility and promote sales in the region
  • Provide distributors and customers in the region with information about new or improved products and services in order to improve sales in the region.
  • Managing new Distributors Super stockists/wholesalers/SRO/large traders Distributor Appointment and Management and Credit Management
  • Establish and ensure that all sales administration procedures relating to the region are properly implemented to support the sales teams in their efforts to accomplish the sales targets
  • Co-ordinate and follow up with the operations team & warehouse team to ensure that adequate inventory stock of product is maintained for the Region in order to meet the sales delivery schedules and provide the distributors with superior levels of service and meet the needs of the
  • Develop the necessary Regional Sales Management organisation structure and ensure the right calibre of staffing and appropriate training is provided to the team to meet all job requirements. Provide leadership so that staff are well motivated and engaged to stay and contribute effectively to the organisation

Requirement:

  • Qualification: Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in relevant field
  • Experience: 5 8 years of experience as Sales / Business Development in FMCG / F&B is mandatory
  • Leadership & team handling Skills
  • Should have recent Team handling exp of SO, appointing distributors, forecasting sales
  • Should be able to handle entire territory
  • Candidate from Food industry would be an ideal match
