Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and result-driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) to manage and expand our General Trade business in Kolkata. This is primarily a field-based role requiring strong market execution, distributor management, and retail-level engagement to drive sales growth for our Home & Kitchen product range.
Duties and responsibilities
• Build, appoint, and manage a strong distributor network across the assigned territory/City
• Ensure effective coordination with distributors on stock availability, order planning, and timely payments
• Drive primary and secondary sales to achieve monthly and quarterly targets
• Conduct regular market visits to monitor retailer coverage, visibility, and competitor activity
• Execute in-store promotions, merchandising, and activation activities at the retail level
• Ensure proper implementation of trade schemes and promotional campaigns
• Track stock movement and minimize out-of-stock situations in the market
• Develop strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key trade partners
• Provide regular sales reports, market feedback, and insights to the management team
Desired Candidate Profile
• 5–8 years of experience in General Trade, preferably in Home & Kitchen categories
• Strong understanding of distributor handling and retail sales execution
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and expand market presence
• Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
• Self-motivated, proactive, and result-oriented
