We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Area Sales Manager – Modern Trade to lead and drive the Modern Trade business across Kerala. The ideal candidate should have strong FMCG sales experience in the Modern Trade channel, excellent relationship management skills, and the ability to achieve sales growth through effective execution and customer engagement.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales and achieve revenue targets for the Modern Trade channel across Kerala.
- Manage and develop relationships with key Modern Trade accounts, including national and regional retail chains.
- Negotiate commercial terms, promotions, listings, and annual business plans with key customers.
- Ensure effective implementation of trade marketing activities, promotions, and visibility programs.
- Monitor sales performance, market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
- Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and business plans for the Modern Trade channel.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and Distribution teams to ensure seamless business operations.
- Track and improve product availability, shelf share, merchandising standards, and in-store execution.
- Analyze sales data and prepare periodic business reviews and management reports.
- Lead and guide the Modern Trade sales team to deliver business objectives.
Qualifications
- MBA (Marketing/Sales) from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 6+ years of FMCG sales experience, with significant exposure to the Modern Trade channel.
- Proven experience in handling key accounts and Modern Trade business in Kerala.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and sales reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Kerala.
