Role Overview
The Area Sales Manager Dealer Development will be responsible for expanding and strengthening the company's dealer and distributor network within the assigned territory for Switchgear products. The role includes driving sales through dealers, electrical contractors, furniture manufacturers, and project channels, ensuring strong market penetration and sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dealer Appointment & Network Expansion
Identify and appoint potential dealers and distributors for Switchgear products.
Conduct detailed market mapping to identify untapped areas and distribution gaps.
Expand dealer network as per territory growth plan.
Ensure proper onboarding, documentation, and activation of new channel partners.
Develop retailer base through appointed dealers.
2. Sales & Revenue Generation
Drive primary and secondary sales through dealers and distributors.
Generate business through electrical contractors, project sites, builders, and furniture manufacturers.
Develop relationships with key contractors and furniture units to secure bulk and repeat orders.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Ensure product availability and visibility at dealer counters and project sites.
Promote focus and high-margin Switchgear products.
Track outstanding payments and ensure timely collections.
3. Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, contractors, furniture manufacturers, and retailers.
Conduct regular market visits, site visits, and dealer meetings.
Resolve queries related to pricing, schemes, product specifications, and logistics.
Provide basic product training and technical support to channel partners.
Support partners in expanding their customer base.
4. Branding & Promotion
Ensure effective implementation of branding and promotional activities at dealer outlets and project sites.
Increase product visibility through display units, dealer boards, and merchandising.
Support local marketing campaigns and promotional schemes.
Gather competitor and market intelligence.
Eligibility Criteria
Experience: 26 years in Dealer Development / Channel Sales / Distribution Sales
Experience in Electrical / Switchgear / Wiring Accessories preferred
Exposure to contractor and project sales preferred
Strong local market knowledge
Graduation required (MBA preferred but not mandatory)
