Position: Area Sales Manager - Chennai
Location: Chennai (base); will manage Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Kerala markets
Employment Type: Full time
Experience: 10 - 12 years
Summary
The ASM will own sales, franchise expansion and retail operations across Tamil Nadu,
Pondicherry and Kerala, operating from a Chennai base.This role requires proven
market knowledge of the region, strong franchise partner management, property
scouting and onboarding capability, and the ability to drive performance through
analytics and people leadership.The incumbent must be prepared for extensive travel
across the assigned territories.
Key Responsibilities
• Territory Ownership: Manage end‑to‑end sales and operations for Tamil Nadu,
Pondicherry and Kerala; ensure achievement of area sales targets and KPIs.
• Franchise Partner Management: Build and maintain relationships with existing
franchisees; monitor franchise performance and implement improvement plans.
• New Partner Onboarding: Scout and evaluate potential locations; lead franchisee
selection, onboarding, and handover to operations.
• Market Intelligence: Maintain deep understanding of local market dynamics,
competitor activity, pricing and customer behavior to inform strategy.
• Retail Analytics and MIS: Analyze sales reports, dashboards and MIS to identify
gaps and opportunities; translate insights into actionable plans.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, coach and develop field and store teams; conduct
performance reviews and drive productivity improvements.
• Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to brand standards, operational
processes and audit requirements.
• Travel and Field Execution: Conduct frequent store and partner visits to ensure
execution, merchandising standards and customer experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Education: MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree.
• Experience: 10–12 years in retail sales, area management or franchise development
with demonstrable experience in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry markets.
• Travel: Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territories.
Skills and Competencies:
• Preferred Skills: Franchisee management; onboarding new partners; property
scouting; retail analytics; team management.
• Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills; experience with MIS and sales dashboards.
• Business Skills: Ability to evaluate ROI for locations and marketing; commercial
acumen; negotiation skills.
• Behavioral Competencies: Strong stakeholder management; decisive execution
orientation; excellent communication; cultural fluency in regional markets is an
advantage.
