Position: Area Sales Manager (ASM) Bio-Inputs

Reporting To: Regional Sales Manager (RSM)
Role Objective
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will drive market adoption of Farmology's biological and nature-based crop solutions across assigned districts in West Bengal. The role focuses on dealer network expansion, farmer education, field demonstrations, and consistent sales & collections, while building long-term credibility for biological products in local agri ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
Dealer & Channel Development (Bio-Inputs Focus)
- Identify, onboard, and activate retailers and sub-dealers aligned with biological / sustainable agri-inputs.
- Educate channel partners on mode of action, application practices, and differentiation of Farmology's bio-products.
- Drive secondary sales through focused channel engagement and activation plans.
Sales & Target Achievement
- Achieve assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets for biological inputs in the territory.
- Execute crop-wise and season-wise sales strategies for key crops in West Bengal.
- Support product launches and scale-up of new biological formulations.
Farmer Engagement & Demand Creation
- Conduct on-field demos, farmer meetings, crop shows, and plot visits to build farmer confidence in bio-solutions.
- Train farmers and influencers on correct dosage, timing, and compatibility of biological products.
- Address farmer objections related to performance, yield, and ROI of bio-inputs.
Collections & Credit Discipline
- Ensure timely recovery of dealer payments and outstanding dues.
- Maintain strict credit discipline in line with company policies.
Market Intelligence & Feedback Loop
- Track competitor biological products, pricing, schemes, and performance claims.
- Capture farmer and dealer feedback to support product improvement and positioning.
- Share ground-level insights on adoption barriers and success stories.
Channel Servicing & Relationship Management
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with dealers, sub-dealers, and key influencers.
- Ensure timely resolution of supply, technical, and service-related issues.
Reporting & Field Discipline
- Maintain daily field reporting through CRM/mobile apps.
- Follow visit discipline and submit regular sales, activity, and market reports.
Required Skills & Experience
- 26 years of field sales experience in bio-inputs, biologicals, agrochemicals, fertilizers, or seeds.
- Prior exposure to microbial, organic, or biological products preferred.
- Strong retailer network across assigned districts/blocks in West Bengal.
- Hands-on experience in field demos, farmer education, and product activation.
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets in new or developing categories.
- Understanding of local crops, seasons, and district-level agri practices.
- Willingness to travel extensively (80% field work).
- Comfortable with WhatsApp, CRM tools, and digital reporting.
