Job Title: Area Sales Executive
Location: Tezpur, Assam (HQ)
Experience: 3 - 10 Years preferred
Role Overview:
The Area Sales Executive will be responsible for driving primary and secondary sales, managing distribution networks, and building strong relationships with key retail accounts. This is a field-focused role requiring hands-on experience in on-ground sales and market execution.
Territory: Headquartered in Tezpur, the candidate will be responsible for managing Tezpur, Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), Imphal (Manipur), Silchar (Assam) and Tripura
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and drive primary and secondary sales within the assigned territory
- Oversee General Trade (GT) and Specialized Pet Trade (SPT) operations
- Handle and expand the distribution network, including distributors, wholesalers, and retailers
- Identify and engage key accounts (high business volume retailers) to maximize sales growth
- Ensure effective coverage, visibility, and availability of products in the market
- Monitor stock levels, order cycles, and replenishment planning
- Execute sales plans, promotions, and market development activities
- Track competitor activity and provide market insights
- Maintain accurate sales reports and data using Excel; prepare presentations (PPT as needed)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline; MBA preferred
- Proven on-ground sales experience in a similar role
- Experience in FMCG, CPG, or Pet Nutrition categories preferred
- Strong understanding of local market dynamics, especially North East geography
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (mandatory) and PowerPoint (preferred)
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with channel partners
- Result-oriented with strong execution capabilities
- Good analytical and reporting skills
Language Requirements:
- Assamese - Conversational
- Hindi/Bengali – Conversational
- English – Conversational
Additional Requirements:
- Travel required outside the assigned city/territory
- Willingness to work extensively in the field
