It is one of the most important security features for counterfeiting prevention and authenticity verification, trusted by over 120 countries and deployed to protect government-issued identity documents.
Job Summary: Based in Singapore, the Area Sales Manager (APAC) will be responsible for achieving growth targets and ensuring continuous service-excellence towards existing and potential customers. The goal of this function is to increase the effectiveness of the B2B4G sales activities in the Asia Pacific Region. This role reports to the Director of the Company in substance, while administrative reporting is to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieving sales targets for Government Documents with existing customers/projects
- Developing new Government Documents customers/projects in the associated countries
- Identify business opportunities based on an understanding of the relevant market segments
- continuously seeking, identifying and following market needs
- Establish contact with potential customers and understand their requirements
- Together with the product owner, formulate solutions to address the customer needs
- Prepare proposals and present these to customers
- Maintain customer relationships and address any commercial or contractual issues
- Continually monitor market developments, competitive situations and new opportunities
- Participate in relevant virtual and/or live events to meet existing and new customers
- Creating and developing relationships to relevant governmental identity document issuing agencies, both via local partner-network and directly, where possible. This will include the organization and execution of educational workshops with relevant officials in target-countries, supported by the Company and its specialists at headquarters.
- Transforming suspects, leads and prospects into new customers, thereby intensifying and completing the sales activities cycle in the region.
- Supporting promotional activities in the Asia Pacific Region at conferences & exhibitions.
- Analysing market and competitive environment in a small team.
- Functioning as Deputy of the General Manager.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
- Strong B2G and B2B sales and business development track record (within larger security-printing / trust-in-identity industry an advantage, but not a must).
- Strong track record in the B2B4G sector and/or in highly sensitive environments.
- At least 3 years of experience in liaising independently with and presenting to both technical and senior management levels.
- Excellent presentation skills
- Experience in dealing with clients regionally across Asia Pacific.
- Relevant experience in dealing with government projects and tender-processes is a strong plus.
- Key account management skills. Familiar with complex sales processes.
- Able to represent the company at international conferences & exhibitions, both individually and in a team, and report to management accordingly.
- Able to represent the company individually when necessary and after training period.
- Able to draft written business communication with style and precision.
- Familiar with filtering market trends as well as competitive and technological environments when contributing to relevant reports and meetings.
Sector Experience:
- Sector experience in B2G and B2B sector, ideally in the security-printing / trust-in-identify industry.
- Experience in working for large family-owned MNCs with complex organisational structures is a benefit.
Skills:
- Advanced project management and prospect management skills preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of office software and internet research tools.
- Strong negotiation skills and networking skills.
