As a Medical Advisor in Hyderabad, you'll provide vital scientific expertise and build activity-based relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to advance medical practice and research, ultimately enhancing Pfizer's standing in the scientific community. You'll actively contribute to the organization by ensuring the scientific, technical, and ethical soundness of all policies and endeavors.
This role delivers high-quality, timely service in critical areas like interactions with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Continuing Medical Education (CME), Clinical Research, Sales Force Training, and business support for New Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Standards, and Business Technology. You'll serve as a key interface with identified scientific leaders, fostering regional, national, and international relationships to deepen understanding of diseases, research trends, clinical practice guidelines, and treatment patterns relevant to our business.
Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic/Policy
- With support from your mentor or Line Manager, provide tactical and strategic inputs, along with business/technical expertise, to Product Management. This is crucial for the ethical promotion of assigned products within the operational areas listed below.
Operational
- Key Opinion Leader (KOL) / Key Organization Engagement:
- Work in alignment with medical affairs colleagues to support the implementation of medical activities relevant to brand plan strategies for specific products and therapy areas.
- Develop and customize presentations as required for specific programs or regional requests from KOLs, ensuring approval by the concerned Medical Advisor before rollout.
- Collaborate closely with medical affairs colleagues to identify and establish relationships with KOLs/organizations in select therapeutic areas within the region. Support their clinical and research activities by understanding their needs and offering appropriate research projects, CME programs, and clinical/educational grants.
- Participate, facilitate, or conduct customized promotional/educational interactions with HCPs. These include, but are not limited to, customer launch meetings, advisory boards, CME programs, scientific symposia, and institutional presentations, all in close coordination with medical affairs colleagues.
- Focus on stage-shifting for KOLs (Stage I: Initiate, Stage II: Develop, Stage III: Partner, Stage IV: Impact) as defined in business unit-specific objectives.
- Clinical Research:
- Support efforts to identify new investigators and institutions for Clinical Research to expand the research base.
- Provide medical support for local studies upon request from clinical operations, including need-based visits to study sites.
- Assist in reviewing/interpreting generated data and assist in writing final reports for locally sponsored studies as required.
- Develop and execute publication plans; assist in reviewing/writing manuscripts for the publication of locally sponsored studies.
- Develop and execute Information Dissemination Plans/Programs.
- Medical Initiatives:
- Participate in and provide medical inputs for KOL meetings/advisory boards and Customer Launch Meetings (CLMs).
- Conduct/facilitate round table meetings/group discussions in coordination with the concerned medical advisor for assigned therapy areas/products as appropriate.
- Conduct CMEs as a speaker/moderator for assigned therapy areas as per requirement and in coordination with the concerned medical advisor, particularly for new products.
- Medical Information:
- Provide useful, timely, accurate, and balanced medical information to internal (sales staff) and external (HCPs) customers, adhering to relevant SOPs/policies.
