Job Purpose
The Area Visual Merchandiser (AVM) will be responsible for ensuring 100% Visual Merchandising compliance across all assigned stores. The role involves maintaining brand presentation standards, executing go-to-market (GTM) campaigns, training store teams on VM guidelines, and driving consistency across the retail network to enhance consumer experience and sales conversion.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular store audits to ensure 100% adherence to VM guidelines and brand standards.
- Identify deviations and work closely with store teams to implement corrective actions.
- Share detailed audit reports with the Regional VM Manager and ensure timely closure of gaps.
- Execute all Go-To-Market and brand activation elements as per guidelines within stipulated timelines.
- Coordinate with brand teams and vendors for smooth and timely rollouts.
- Ensure quality control of all VM materials (danglers, shelf strips, standees, posters, etc.).
- Maintain an updated asset report for all stores within the territory.
- Monitor asset conditions, ensure periodic maintenance, and initiate replacements when required.
- Conduct VM training sessions for store staff on brand standards, seasonal guidelines, and planogram compliance.
- Build strong VM understanding among store teams to ensure daily upkeep and readiness.
- Ensure all stores implement the latest planograms accurately and within deadlines.
- Work closely with category teams to optimize space allocation based on performance and visibility.
- Plan and execute thematic VM displays for key retail seasons such as Karwa Chauth, Durga Pujo, Navratri, Diwali, etc.
- Ensure timely implementation of décor, communication elements, and campaign collaterals across all stores.
- Travel extensively across assigned stores for audits, training, and campaign checks.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams — Store Operations, Marketing, and Procurement — for seamless coordination.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate / Postgraduate in Visual Merchandising, Retail Management, or Design.
- 2–5 years of experience in Visual Merchandising within a retail or FMCG environment.
- Strong understanding of retail display principles, planogram execution, and brand presentation.
- Excellent communication, training, and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the region.
