Area Manager – Operations

About Hundo Pizza

Hundo Pizza is a fast-growing premium pizza brand built on the belief that exceptional food, memorable experiences, and passionate people create lasting connections with our guests. As we continue to expand, we are looking for an experienced **Area Manager** who will play a pivotal role in scaling our operations while preserving the Hundo experience. This role requires a leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring operational consistency, developing high-performing teams, and driving business growth across multiple outlets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Store Operations & Operational Excellence

* Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple Hundo Pizza outlets, ensuring consistency in food quality, service standards, hygiene, cleanliness, and brand presentation.

* Conduct regular operational audits and store visits to evaluate compliance with company standards.

* Identify operational gaps and work closely with Restaurant Managers to implement corrective action plans and continuous improvement initiatives.

* Monitor opening and closing procedures, food safety practices, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and facility upkeep.

* Serve as the primary escalation point for operational, guest service, and compliance-related issues.

* Drive operational consistency through regular coaching, performance reviews, and follow-up audits.

* Be capable of stepping into restaurant operations whenever required to support the team during peak business periods or unforeseen operational challenges.

2. Leadership & People Development

* Lead, mentor, and coach Restaurant Managers and outlet leadership teams.

* Develop high-performing teams by identifying future leaders and creating succession plans.

* Conduct regular performance reviews, feedback sessions, and coaching discussions.

* Ensure all restaurants maintain adequate staffing levels and operational readiness.

* Support recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives for restaurant management teams.

* Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.

* Build clear role expectations and capability development plans for every management team member.

3. Financial & Business Performance

* Own the Profit & Loss (P&L) performance of all assigned outlets.

* Monitor sales performance, labour cost, food cost, controllable expenses, and profitability.

* Analyse business trends and implement strategies to improve revenue, guest count, and operational efficiency.

* Review daily, weekly, and monthly business reports with Restaurant Managers.

* Ensure outlets consistently achieve operational and financial targets.

* Identify risks proactively and implement action plans to minimise losses and maximise profitability.

4. Operations Standardization & Business Execution

* Ensure all company policies, operational initiatives, and business updates are effectively communicated and implemented across restaurants.

* Partner with Head Office on new restaurant openings, expansion projects, and operational improvements.

* Develop, review, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

* Create practical operational tools including:

 * Store audit checklists

 * Daily Manager Checklists

 * Shift Handover Templates

 * Training Trackers

 * Incident & Escalation Logs

 * Weekly Business Review formats

 * Inventory Control Processes

 * Guest Recovery Procedures

 * Opening & Closing Checklists

* Drive adoption of SOPs through structured training, coaching, and regular audits.

* Lead cross-functional operational improvement projects whenever required.

5. Guest Experience

* Champion a guest-first culture across every Hundo Pizza location.

* Monitor customer feedback, online reviews, ratings, and guest satisfaction metrics.

* Personally manage escalated guest complaints and ensure timely resolution.

* Build relationships with regular guests and local communities to strengthen customer loyalty.

* Use guest feedback to continuously improve operational standards and service delivery.

Onboarding & Training

Successful candidates will undergo a structured onboarding programme designed to immerse them in Hundo Pizza's operations and culture.

Month 1

* Intensive hands-on training across kitchen, service, cashier, delivery, and shift management functions.

Month 2

* Exposure to restaurant management, financial controls, inventory management, scheduling, and operational reporting.

Month 3

* Transition into Area Manager responsibilities with guidance from senior leadership.

* Deliver the first operational improvement project, including SOP development, audit implementation, and business review framework.

Continuous leadership development, operational workshops, and business review sessions will be part of ongoing learning.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience

* Minimum 8 years of experience in the Food & Beverage, Hospitality, QSR, or Casual Dining industry.

* At least 4–5 years in a multi-unit leadership role managing multiple restaurants.

* Experience in developing SOPs, operational standards, and scalable restaurant systems.

* Strong background in restaurant operations, people management, and business performance.

* Proven experience managing P&L, labour costs, food costs, and operational KPIs.

Education

* Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.

* Postgraduate qualification or MBA in Operations or Business Management will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

* Strong leadership and coaching abilities.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Commercially driven with strong financial acumen.

* Ability to analyse operational data and make informed business decisions.

* Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

* Experience using POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management tools.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-location environment with frequent travel.

* Strong ability to build systems, implement processes, and ensure operational discipline.
