Role Purpose
The Area Credit Manager – SCF is responsible for end-to-end credit appraisal, decisioning, and portfolio risk management of Supply Chain Finance (Dealer and Vendor Finance) cases for the assigned geography. The role ensures robust underwriting quality, adherence to credit policy and processes, timely decisioning, strong portfolio performance, and effective team productivity in a digitized credit environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate credit workings, financial analysis, and reports prepared by CPA teams; identify discrepancies and ensure accurate and timely credit decisioning as per SCF credit policy.
- Conduct detailed assessment of borrower business models, including evaluation of business viability, managerial capability, operational strength, and financial standing; carry out PDs, customer meetings, and unit visits where required.
- Perform in-depth financial analysis of SCF proposals to identify trends, risks, deviations, and early warning signals, and document them appropriately in Credit Appraisal Memos (CAM).
- Prepare, review, and recommend credit proposals to approving authorities with clear, structured credit rationale and analytical insights.
- Ensure completion of all credit processes, desktop checks, due diligence requirements, and compliance checkpoints within defined turnaround time (TAT).
- Maintain high standards of audit and review outcomes with minimal errors, ensuring strong compliance and governance discipline.
- Monitor portfolio performance, control delinquency levels including 30+ and 90+ DPD buckets, and manage accounts with early warning signs in line with management action plans.
- Maintain credit cost and portfolio quality as per organizational targets and annual operating plan.
- Drive productivity and performance of the CPA/credit team; hire CPAs as per approved AOP and actively control attrition.
- Ensure timely preparation and circulation of MIS and credit dashboards for management and stakeholders.
- Ensure 100% team participation in mandatory trainings, compliance modules, HR initiatives, and surveys.
- Work effectively on LOS/LMS and other digitized credit platforms to support operational efficiency.
- Participate in new policy initiatives, programs, and projects, and support additional locations or responsibilities as assigned by management.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- CA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification
Work Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Credit underwriting within Supply Chain Finance (Dealer & Vendor Finance)
- Experience in NBFC / Banking environment preferred
