About the Role
Brainwing Innovations is looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Architectural Draftsman to join our Scale Model Division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for converting architectural drawings into precise CAD files optimized for scale model production and laser cutting processes.
This role requires a strong understanding of architectural drafting, scaling principles, material thicknesses, and production-ready drawing preparation for physical architectural models.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and draft accurate 2D CAD drawings for architectural scale models.
- Convert architectural plans, elevations, and sections into scaled production drawings.
- Develop laser cut-ready files with proper layer management, line weights, and cutting guidelines.
- Coordinate with the design and model-making teams to understand project requirements and fabrication constraints.
- Ensure all drawings are optimized for laser cutting, CNC, and model production workflows.
- Scale drawings accurately based on project requirements (1:50, 1:100, 1:200, etc.).
- Prepare detailed fabrication layouts for acrylic, MDF, HIPS, and other model-making materials.
- Maintain organized project files and drawing revisions.
- Assist in solving technical production challenges during model fabrication.
- Ensure high accuracy and attention to detail in every project submission.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / Degree in Architecture, Drafting, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, or related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
- Knowledge of laser cutting file preparation is essential.
- Understanding of architectural drawings and construction detailing.
- Experience with scale models or fabrication drawings will be preferred.
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Rhino, or SketchUp is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of scaling, dimensions, tolerances, and material behavior.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects within deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- 1–4 years of experience in architectural drafting or model-making industries.
- Prior experience working with laser cutting machines or fabrication vendors is preferred.
- Experience in architectural model studios or experiential design companies is a plus.
